Charles (Chuck) Wallach is responsible for The Tower Companies’ commercial and retail property leases, tenant relations, building improvements, coordination of planning / development and redevelopment of retail projects. He also oversees Tower’s role as tenant coordinator during planning and construction of tenant space and special renovation projects.
With more than 35 years in the industry, Chuck is most proud of his achievements since joining The Tower Companies in 1986. Since then, he completed major renovations to retail strip centers in excess of 1 million SF, set the benchmark for increasing rents for retail and office buildings, succeeded in maintaining minimal vacancy levels throughout portfolio, and directed the build-out process for Tower’s LEED-CI Platinum® headquarters. He is also Tower’s in-house fitness center expert — he designed and built three new fitness centers within the Tower portfolio.
Chuck served on the Board of Governors for the Washington Building Congress and currently participates in annual judging of construction projects. He also actively engages in the International Council of Shopping Centers’ (ICSC) Industry Mentoring Program and Associated General Contractors of DC: Young Constructors Forum Mentoring Program. He is a member of the ICSC, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) Maryland Chapter, and the United States Green Building Council.
Among his many volunteer activities, Chuck was President of his homeowners association, served on the Muscular Dystrophy Association fundraising committee, and coached ice hockey.
Chuck earned a BS in Psychology from University of North Carolina and studied Industrial Psychology at Stevens Institute of Technology. He and his wife Barbara have two sons–Evan and Zachary. In his spare time he enjoys golf, fast cars, tinkering with home entertainment equipment, playing the drums, and more golf.
